If you want to stay on the strip but don't want to spend alot on your room , then try Imperial Palace, Circus Circus, Excalibur, or some of the older ones. Also a REALLY good buffet to go to is the RIO or Aladdin ( if its still there), also the Dinner show at Excalibur is a lot of fun. You can check out each of the hotels individual websites and also see what shows they offer and prices. Some of the smaller shows are free when you buy a drink. The bigger shows like blue man, O, Splash, etc.. are gonna cost you between $50-$150. Once you get to vegas you can get all kinds of free coupon books and discounts on shows. Just start walking down the strip and see all the stuff you get handed! There are lots of things to do other than gambling. Check out Stratosphere, N.Y.N.Y., Circus Circus, Mandalay Bay, and Caesars for other things to do. Oh also go to Fremont street and check out the light show and some of the little shops! A lot of casinos will also offer you free buffets or other freebies just for signing up for a players card. Its free and you don't ever have to use it again if you don't want to.

check out southwest's vacation packages. they have some god eals right now to vegas flight and room. i'll list as much as i can for tips and tricks. hotels: mgm, mandalay bay, ny/ny, monte carlo, paris, planet hollywood (nee, alladin), bellagio, caesar's palace, mirage, treasure island, venetian, wynn. eats: the best buffet is at the bellagio. the desserts alone are worth the $40. the rio is also very good and i've heard great stuff about the wynn. for sit down places try olives at bellagio, ra at fashion show mall, and the outdoor french cafe at paris (i can't recall the name). shows: any of the cirque du soleil shows. zumanity is a little 'adult' but the rest are normal. but order now as tix go fast. the fashion show mall is fun walk once. lots of high end shops and dept. stores. shark reef aquarium at mandalay, dolphin exhibit at mirage, cheesy pirate-chick show treaure island (the camp value alone is worth it). the flower gardens at the bellagio and the wynn, the water show at the bellagio, roller coasters at ny/ny, sahara, and stratosphere that's all i can think of for now. if you go to lasvegas.com they have a great run down of all thing things to do on and off the strip how to get there, cost, busy seasons, etc. i highly recommend you check that out before making your trip.

Go to Vegas.com and make reservations. South West and Jet Blue are your best for flights. As far as the strip it is what ever is the best deal on Vegas.com. Probably Circus Circus, Sahara, Stratosphere, or something just off. Terrible is a big surprise for just off the strip. The bad news is that you would have to take a cab or the shuttle at near by Hard Rock to go to the strip. Although it would be only 5 minutes.
