Best time and place to book a flight to Las Vegas?
We are going to Vegas from NY on June 8th, returning on the 12th. I'm wondering when we should book the flights - now, or wait a little while? Will prices go up or down? So far, since about a month ago, they went up a bit, and now seem to be declining again. Factors are fuel prices, which should remain low (though oil prices are increasing slightly, there is a lag effect for when they are purchased and when they are actually used and priced). Also, I was thinking that perhaps summer travel will be significantly down due to the economic climate, and airliners will start dropping prices soon to entice summer travel. Let me know what you think. Also, best site(s) for booking? I've looked at Soutwest.com and Orbitz.com.

Fares are usually higher during the summer months. I will book right now. To get good rates, check sites like Southwest airlines or US Airways. Also do a search on kayak engine. It will check all airlines going to Vegas and all major travel sites and return the cheapest fare. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/cheap-flights.php

Book now and Southwest is a great site but then you can go to yahoo's travel section for a great deal of comparison prices

I've been watching prices for the summer and they suddenly rose quite a lot a few weeks ago and so far they have stayed there. I always use http://www.sidestep.com/ to research prices.
